Our Story

The Black Wall Gallery aims to be a creative space where Capital Region artists can come together to work and display their art for show or sale.

Our curator, Zachariah Montoya, comes to the Capital Region with his intentions set on making this his new home after living Hawaii for the past 15 years. 

​

During his years on the big island, Zachariah owned his own very successful tattoo shop: Old Moon Tattoo Collective. Over time, one of the walls started to become to place where everyone wanted to hang their art: the black wall!

​

The black wall eventually grew to be known as the wall in the shop where any artist could display their work and became a spot that highlighted the talent of the tattoo artists and local artists alike.

To honor Zachariah's commitment to fostering the art community, The Black Wall Gallery will live on here at Pinpoint Art and continue to uplift our locals.
